Gardaí investigating the murder of a three-year-old boy at his Dublin home have arrested a woman in her 40s.
The body of Omar Omran was found when gardaí were called to an apartment in the Riverside complex in the Poddle Park area of Kimmage at around 7pm on Monday.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardaí also discovered his mother with serious knife injuries when they forced their way in to the one-bedroom apartment.
At around 10am this morning, a woman was arrested at a city centre location and is being held at Crumlin Garda Station.
She can be held for up to 24 hours.
