A new appeal has been launched for information about a baby girl whose body was found in Bray, Co Wicklow a year ago.

The body was discovered at the Greenstar recycling facility in the Co Wicklow town on 4 May 2016.

The Caucasian girl was named Alannah by gardaí.

A post-mortem examination carried out the day after the discovery suggested that Alannah had not suffered any deliberate injuries.

She was buried in Redford Cemetery, Greystones, on 14 May 2016.

Inspector Sorcha Fitzpatrick from Bray Garda Station urged anyone with information about the discovery to come forward.

Speaking on RTÉ's News at One, she said the traumatic incident had affected everyone in the local community.

Insp Fitzpatrick urged the mother of the baby to come forward to allow gardaí bring closure to the incident.
