Gardaí have begun a murder investigation into the death of a 31-year-old woman in Waterford.
Samantha Walsh, from Lisduggan in Waterford city, was found yesterday in the rented apartment on Thomas Street in Waterford where she had been living.
The body of Ms Walsh, who had a number of young children, was brought to University Hospital Waterford for a post-mortem examination, which was conducted by the Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis.
The results of that examination have not been released for operational reasons.
Gardaí said they are following a number of lines of inquiry in connection with her death.
