A 35-year-old man has died following a workplace accident at a manufacturing company in Little Island, Co Cork.
The incident happened at 1.30am at Architectural & Metal Systems, an aluminium manufacturing company.
The Health and Safety Authority has been notified.
In a statement, AMS said: "Early this morning, in our premises at Wallingstown, Little Island, a tragic accident occurred which resulted in the death of one of our colleagues.
"There is a Garda and HSA investigation ongoing at the moment. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time."
