An elderly woman who was struck by a car in Dublin this morning has died in hospital.
The incident happened at around 8.15am on the Navan Road on the northside of the city.
A 39-year-old man who was driving the car was arrested and taken to Finglas Garda Station.
The man has since been released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Meanwhile, a man in his 40s has died after a road collision in Derry.
The two-car crash happened on the Clooney Road during the early hours of the morning.
A man and woman, both in their 50s, were taken to hospital for treatment but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
