An agreement has been reached in the dispute over the use of eFlow tags at a number of toll plazas around the country.
The agreement means the eFlow tags will continue to be accepted at toll points on the M1 near Drogheda, the M7/M8 near Portlaoise and the N25 Waterford City Bypass after 31 August.
The eFlow tags will also continue to be accepted at all other toll points in the country.
Tags from other service providers are also accepted at all toll points.
The dispute between the Celtic Roads Group, which operates the toll plazas, and Transport Industry Ireland, which operates the eFlow tags, had been ongoing for much of the summer.
Minister for Transport Shane Ross has welcomed the agreement, saying it is "good news for road users and it means eFlow tags will continue to be recognised at all toll points across the country."
Mr Ross also said that motorists who had changed their tag from eFlow to another operator are not affected by the decision.
He added that there is "no cost associated with switching tag providers and all toll tag providers charge a monthly fee."
