A search for a man missing off Rougey in Bundoran, Co Donegal has been suspended for the night and will resume at first light tomorrow.
The Bundoran lifeboat began the search at 6pm.
The Coast Guard helicopter based in Sligo was also involved in the search.
A spokesperson at Malin Head Coast Guard said the alarm was raised by a woman in a carpark after a group of swimmers signalled to her for help.
