Search for missing fisherman in Galway to resume in morning

The search for a missing fisherman in the Oughterard area of Lough Corrib, Co Galway, has finished up for the evening. 

It will resume at first light, according to Valentia Coast Guard.

The operation began after a fishing boat was found this morning. 

Gardaí, the Shannon-based Coast Guard helicopter, the Costello Bay Coast Guard Unit and the Corrib/Mask Rescue Boats undertook the search today. 

Local people and local fishermen were also involved in the operation.
