London's police force is to deploy an additional 600 armed officers across the capital to protect against the threat of attacks, Mayor Sadiq Khan has said.
"The threat level hasn't changed. We are learning the lessons from Europe, from Nice, from Paris, from Munich and we are ensuring that not only do Londoners feel reassured and safe, but frankly speaking, the bad people recognise that our police service, security service and all of us will do our best to keep us all safe", Mr Khan said.
The armed officers will be deployed across London and will bring the total of armed police in Britain's capital to 2,800.
Many of the police will be stationed around some of the city's best known landmarks.
The last major terrorist attack in London was in 2005 when 52 people were killed after a number of co-ordinated suicide bombings on the city's transport system.
