A 13-year-old boy has died following a road crash in Co Wicklow.
The boy was a passenger in a car when it collided with a ditch near Annamoe at 6.40am this morning.
The boy and the driver of the car both walked from the car and were offered a lift from a passer-by, before the boy's condition deteriorated and he died en route to Loughlinstown Hospital.
The male driver of the car, in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and brought to Wicklow Garda Station.
A forensic examination is to take place on the road between Roundwood and Annamoe and gardaí have asked anyone who may have seen the collision or the two men on the road to contact Wicklow Garda Station on 0404 -601 40, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
