A young boy is in a critical condition in hospital after falling from the balcony of a hotel in Co Limerick.
The incident happened at around 1pm this afternoon at the Strand Hotel on the Ennis Road.
The toddler, believed to be two years old, received medical attention at the scene and was then transferred to University Hospital Limerick.
Gardaí say they have preserved the scene.
A hotel representative said their thoughts and prayers are with the injured boy's family.
The spokesperson confirmed the incident took place at lunchtime and said the hotel is working closely with the gardaí and local authorities to establish how the accident occurred.
