Irish fans have been left devastated as the Republic crashed out of Euro 2016 this afternoon at the hands of hosts France.
The defeat in Lyon marks the end of the Irish party which has seen the fans in green win over locals and other supporters from around Europe.
As neighbours England hit the headlines for clashing with police, Irish fans have been a regular feature in the news for their good behaviour and for bringing the craic to France.
Videos of Irish supporters singing a baby to sleep, dancing with a nun on a train and getting the stern French policemen to join in with their antics have gone viral and boosted the reputation of Irish fans in Europe.
But now, the fans have to bid au revoir to France after Ireland lost the knock-out showdown 2-1 with their only goal being a Robbie Brady penalty within two minutes of kick-off.
French supporters packed out the Stade de Lyon, clearly outnumbering the Irish contingent who struggled to get their hands on tickets.
Sitting amongst French fans in the stands, Edel Cunningham from Co Sligo said: "Devastated for the fans and the players after the way we've carried ourselves throughout the tournament.
"Either way, it's still a proud day to be Irish."

Dave Draper from Co Roscommon said: "Disappointing but the lads still did us proud. Yet again Irish fans proved themselves to be the best in the world.
"We won the hearts of the French nation."
Meanwhile, there was emotional highs and lows in the official fanzone in Dublin this afternoon, as thousands braved the rain to cheer on the boys in green.
The crowds erupted in the first few minutes when Ireland scored but celebrations subsided at the second half equalizer. However, the fans were optimistic and hope remained until the end of the match.

Elsewhere, Fine Gael TD for Dublin North West, Noel Rock, has called on Dublin City Council to hold a civic reception for the soccer team.
"This has been a great tournament for our boys and I was delighted to attend a few of the games and cheer them on. They have come out of a difficult group and surprised everyone with their heart and desire," said Mr Rock.
"I hope they and the rest of this terrific squad will be given a warm welcome home from such a great tournament," said Mr Rock.
Meanwhile, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Charlie Flanagan expressed his pride at the performance of the team.
He said: "The Irish team and its fantastic supporters have done the nation proud, and represented us abroad in the best possible way. The 'can-do' spirit of the team, and the remarkable friendliness and bonhomie of the Irish supporters has made them every other country's second team at this championship."
