More people sleeping rough in Dublin
The number of people sleeping rough in Dublin has risen since the last official count.
Figures from the Dublin Region Homeless Executive show there were 102 people sleeping on the streets during the night of 24 April.
This is a 12% rise since the November 2015 figure of 91.
Thousands evacuated over Canada wildfire
Canadian authorities have ordered thousands of people to evacuate a city in the Canadian oil sands region due to a major wildfire approaching Fort McMurray's north end.
The fire is "growing rapidly" toward the city in Alberta province.
Mandatory evacuations were now in effect for seven neighbourhoods in the city of 100,000, according to an alert issued by Alberta emergency authorities.
Man arrested in connection with 2009 Antrim disappearance
A 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 36-year-old man who went missing in Co Antrim seven years ago.
Mark Gourley went missing in March 2009 and PSNI detectives launched a murder inquiry in 2013.
He was described as a vulnerable individual at the time he disappeared. His body was never located.
Firefighters tackle gorse fire in Dublin
Four units of Dublin Fire Brigade are fighting a gorse fire on Howth Hill, Co Dublin. The fire brigade was alerted to the incident at 7pm.
Initially six units drawn from surrounding areas were sent to tackle the blaze.
There is no reported threat or damage to any persons or homes in the area.
Five cars damaged in Waterford city
A number of incidents of criminal damage to cars and houses in Waterford city are being investigated.
Five cars were damaged, a window was smashed in a house and paint was thrown at a wall of another house at different locations in the city yesterday morning between 3am and 4am.
Two men were seen in the area around the time of the incidents, while four people were seen walking from O'Brien Street to Robinsons Lane at 3.05am.
Man dies after three-vehicle crash in Antrim
A man in his 50s has died and five people have been taken to hospital following a three-vehicle collision in Co Antrim last night.
The five injured, including three children, sustained non-life threatening injuries in the incident, which occurred around 7pm last night on the Collin Road in Ballyclare.
The PSNI is appealing for witnesses.
Air raids on IS Syria bastion kill 13 civilians: monitor
Heavy air strikes throughout the night on the so-called Islamic State group's de facto Syria capital Raqa killed at least 13 civilians and five jihadists, a monitoring group has said.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights had no immediate word on whether the strikes were carried out by the Damascus regime, its ally Russia or the US-led coalition battling IS.
"Raqa has not been targeted by air raids of this intensity for several weeks," Observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman said.
Memorial concert to mark anniversary of Garda's death

A memorial concert will take place in Limerick to mark the 20th anniversary of the death of Detective Garda Jerry McCabe who was shot dead by the IRA as they attempted to rob the post office in Adare on 7 June 1996.
His colleague Ben O'Sullivan was seriously injured in the incident.
He said it was impossible to forget the events of that day, but he has learned to live with it.
Det McCabe's widow, Ann McCabe, thanked gardaí for remembering her late husband. A number of local charities will benefit from the concert.
