Male pedestrian dies in Dublin crash

A male pedestrian has died following a road traffic collision in Dublin.

The incident happened on the inbound N2 dual carriageway near Finglas shortly before 3am.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown.

The driver of the car, a man in his 50s, was uninjured in the collision. 

The road was closed for a period of time to allow for forensic examination but was due to reopen at 10am.
