Hundreds of people have turned out in Mullingar to greet Aintree Grand National winner, Rule the World.
The horse, trained by Mouse Morris and owned by Michael O'Leary, was paraded through the streets.
Rule the World - with 19-year-old jockey David Mullins in the saddle won the National yesterday - returned to Ireland on an overnight ferry.
Mr O’Leary said Rule the World wears the Westmeath colours of maroon and white, adding "e don’t bring enough trophies here to Mullingar and when Tipperary and Mouse lend us one I think we should bring it down here and let the people of Mullingar celebrate".
Morris was quick to contradict him, however, saying he likes to think maroon and white are the Galway colours.

Asked about how Rule the World performed so well, given he has fractured his pelvis twice, Morris said: "He is a real genuine horse."
