A man and a woman, both aged in their 30s, have died after separate car crashes in Donegal and Mayo.
A 35-year-old man was fatally injured after his car left the road on the R327 near Cloonfad in Co Mayo and entered the Dalgan River at around 8am this morning.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was taken to Mayo University Hospital for a post-mortem examination to be carried out.
In Donegal, a 30-year-old woman died at Letterkenny General Hospital this afternoon after suffering injuries when her car collided with another car on the N13 at Castleforward, Newtowncunningham yesterday morning.
The driver of the second car, a man in his 40s, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.
