A woman in her late 30s has died in a single-car crash at an Applegreen service station in Coolanoran, Rathkeale, Limerick.

The crash happened at around 11.30pm last night.

The woman's body has been removed to University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem examination will be carried out. 

A man in his mid-40s and two children, also in the car at the time of the crash, were taken to University Hospital Limerick, where their injuries are described as non-life threatening.

The road at the scene remains open and there is a stop go system in place.

Garda forensic collision investigators are currently at scene and the road is expected to fully re-open this afternoon.
