Services on the Luas Red Line from Connolly Station to the Docklands area were halted this morning by a technical fault.
However, Luas operators Transdev acknowledged that the work-to-rule commenced by Luas staff on Saturday contributed to delays in repair work to restore service.
Luas employees are due to strike this Thursday and Friday and on Thursday and Friday of next week in pursuit of pay increases of up to 53%.
Transdev has confirmed that Thursday's strike will start at 4am so it will affect the start of service at 5.30am on Thursday and Friday. The Saturday service will resume at 6.30am.
Employees commenced a work-to-rule on Saturday.
A Transdev spokeswoman stressed that the disruption to docklands services was "not entirely" due to the work-to-rule, adding the industrial action had not had any other consequences.
She also confirmed there was some disruption to the Green Line earlier when a pedestrian was hit.
However, the spokesperson described that incident as minor, noting that the pedestrian had walked away.
Transdev has argued that the pay rises sought by Luas staff belonging to SIPTU are unaffordable and unjustified.
Talks at the Workplace Relations Commission last week failed to secure a breakthrough.
