Two multinationals are to announce a significant expansion of their workforces in Ireland today.
Big four accountancy practice PwC is to take on 500 staff over the next year, while Microsoft is recruiting 100 people, as well as 60 interns
PwC takes on graduates every year through its so called 'milk round', but next year it is hoping to attract professionals from home and abroad too.
It says it will take on 500 people over the next 12 months.
Over 200 of the roles will be for professionally qualified individuals.
PwC says it hopes Irish people working abroad will come back to take up some of these roles.
The positions are in international tax and financial services, but it is also looking to recruit staff in the fields of cyber security and regulatory compliance.
Meanwhile, Microsoft says it is taking on 100 people across its operations, as well as 60 new interns.
The roles will be filled by a mix of experienced professionals and graduates.
The positions include service, process and software engineers, data analytics experts, programme managers, finance experts, channel and technical account management, device demand planners, supply chain experts, operations, sales and marketing.

All of the positions will be based in Dublin.
"Microsoft in Ireland is a global hub for many parts of our operations and development teams.
"That means that there are great career opportunities for people - many of whom will have a European or global role while being based in Dublin," commented Cathriona Hallahan, Managing Director of Microsoft Ireland
