A 25-year-old motorcyclist has died in a road crash in Nurney, Co Kildare.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision between his motorbike and a van on the Nurney to Kildare Road close to Walterstown Cross at around 6.15pm.

His body has been removed to Naas General Hospital where a post-mortem examination is expected to take place tomorrow.

Two men travelling in the van were uninjured.

The road has been closed for a technical examination and diversions are in place.
