The family of Dublin teenager Ibrahim Halawa are to raise his case at the European Parliament in Brussels.
Mr Halawa's sisters and one of his legal team, along with Sinn Féin MEP Lynn Boylan, were due to meet a group of Irish MEPs this morning.
This afternoon, a group including the Halawa family, his lawyers, Peter Greste - the Australian journalist who was detained in Egypt - and representatives of the charity Reprieve will address a session of the European Parliament.
The group will speak about human rights breaches by Egyptian authorities in Mr Halawa's case and more broadly in Egypt.
Mr Halawa was arrested in Cairo in August 2013 after taking part in a protest.
He has been detained for over two years, and despite a series of court appearances, his trial has yet to get under way.
His next court appearance is scheduled for 15 December.
