The group supporting the families bereaved over a week ago by a fire at a halting site in Carrickmines, Co Dublin has said the families are getting desperate to know what will happen to them regarding accommodation when funerals for the ten victims of the fire are over on Friday.
Southside Travellers Action Group Director Geraldine Dunne said the situation has gone on for ten days and a decision is necessary immediately to provide the families with a safe place to live.
In a statement, STAG says its representatives met officials from Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council this afternoon to press for emergency accommodation for the 15 people left homeless by the fire on 10 October.
It says discussions are continuing and that STAG is very anxious that the situation be resolved speedily.
It says that the families are being accommodated on a night-to-night basis in temporary accommodation that will no longer be available after Wednesday.
STAG has outlined the funeral plans for members of the two families which lost members in the fire at the temporary halting site in the early hours of last Saturday week.
The funeral Mass for Willie Lynch, his partner Tara Gilbert, their children, Jody and Kelsey, and Willie's brother Jimmy Lynch, will be held in Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Main Street, Bray at 12pm tomorrow.
The remains of Thomas Connors, his wife Sylvia, and their three children, Christopher, Jim and baby Mary, will be brought to the Church of the Ascension of the Lord in Balally, Sandyford, at 5pm on Wednesday.
A funeral Mass will be held there at 11.30am Thursday, after which their remains will be brought to the Church of the Assumption, Bride Street, Wexford town, arriving at 5pm.
The family will be buried in Crosstown cemetery, Wexford, following a prayer service in the church at 12pm Friday.
The STAG statement concludes by asking everyone to treat the families with respect and says no interviews will be given to media.
