The funerals of the victims of the Carrickmines halting site fire will take place next week in Wicklow and Wexford.

Ten people, including a pregnant woman, died in the fire, which took place in the early hours of Saturday 10 October.

Their remains were released to their families yesterday afternoon.

Tara Gilbert, Willie Lynch and their children Jodie (9) and Kelsey (4) will be buried alongside Willie's brother Jimmy Lynch (39) in Bray on Tuesday.

Their funeral mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Most Holy Reedemer on Main Street, Bray at midday with the burials afterwards at Springfield Cemetery.

The funeral of Thomas and Sylvia Connors and their children Jim (5), Christy (2) and Mary (5 months) will take place on Thursday and Friday.

The details have yet to be finalised but the family will be buried in Wexford.

Last night, hundreds of people attended a candlelight vigil in Fassaroe in Bray for the victims.

Candles lined the kerbs of the estate in which five of the victims of the blaze lived.

A sixth was originally from Bray, and all ten were deeply connected with the community.
