Weather warnings issued by Met Éíreann due to heavy rain expected nationwide have been lifted.
A Status Yellow rainfall warning was made for Leinster, Connacht as well as counties Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal.
Gardaí in Co Monaghan have said that there has been heavy rainfall in the county overnight and drivers were urged to drive with caution.
Intense or thundery downpours were expected at times in eastern areas and later in northern counties with local spot flooding.
Gale warnings were also issued.
