An Aeromexico Boeing Dreamliner flying from Mexico City to Paris staged an emergency landing at Shannon Airport this afternoon after reports of a fire on board.
The flight was off the Irish coast at around 2.30pm en route from Mexico City to Paris when it declared an emergency.
"In accordance with safety procedures, the crew decided to divert to Shannon Airport in Ireland, landing without mishap," Aeromexico said in a statement.
Aeromexico and airport personnel are "taking care of all the passengers" to quickly ensure they can reach their final destination, the statement said.
Emergency vehicles were on standby at Shannon Airport to deal with the incident.
A spokesman for Shannon Airport said the emergency response has been stood down.
It is understood no fire was found on board.
