A new €10 million competitive fund to support more start-ups in every county has been announced by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.
Half of the fund will go to Local Enterprise Offices who come together to bid for funding for projects to support job-creation over the next two years.
The other half will go to a Community Enterprise Initiatives fund, which is open to groups and organisations in every county who come together with ideas for projects to create jobs.
The initiative forms part of the Government's €250m Regional Action Plan for Jobs.
The plan is to be announced by Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Ministers Richard Bruton and Ged Nash in Carlow later today.
