One of Down Syndrome Ireland's main fundraisers has died in a road crash in Kilkee, Co Clare.
Aidan Lynam was taking part in DSI's annual motorcycle fundraiser when his motorbike collided with a car on the Kilrush Road.
The accident happened just before midday, as he took part for the tenth year in an event that was his brainchild.
Mr Lynam and his fellow motorcyclists had so far raised €1.6m for Down Syndrome Ireland with the motorcycle event.
He was airlifted to University Hospital Limerick, but died later from his injuries. The driver of the car was uninjured.
