A baby girl and her parents who were rescued from a fire at their home in north Belfast early yesterday remain in a critical condition in hospital.

The couple, who are aged in their 20s, and their 14-week-old daughter are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit of the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued the family from an upstairs bedroom after the blaze apparently began on the ground floor of the house at Jamaica Street in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast.
