A search took place for a man missing in the River Nore in Co Kilkenny today.
Gardaí said they were called to the scene at Canice's Mill in Thomastown at about 1.30am this morning.
The 33-year-old man was walking along the river bank with a group of friends when he entered the water.
The Waterford Coast Guard helicopter carried out a search of the area but returned to base at 7am.
Garda sub aqua divers, Kilkenny river rescue and the Waterford coast guard helicopter took part in the search.
