A woman has died and another motorist was seriously injured in a crash on the road between Athlone and Ballinasloe this morning.
The collision happened near Cornafulla just outside Athlone shortly after 9am.
The 49-year-old woman died after the car she was in was collided with a taxi.
The driver of the taxi was brought to Portiuncula Hospital Ballinasloe.
