The historian and author Shane MacThomáis has died.
He was the resident historian and tour guide at Glasnevin Cemetery and Museum in Dublin.
Mr MacThomáis was also well-known as a radio and television commentator.
He was a son of the author and historian Éamonn MacThomáis.
In a statement, Glasnevin Trust said: "It is with great sadness that we have learned of the death of Shane MacThomáis, a much loved and respected colleague.
"His loss will leave an enormous void in all our lives. He was not only a colleague but a personal friend to all."
