Fatal work place accidents in Dublin and Limerick investigated

The Health and Safety Authority is investigating two separate deaths in Co Limerick and Co Dublin.

A man in his 50s died after being caught between a digger and a wall in Skerries in Dublin.

The incident happened at a construction site on Harbour Road and was reported to the HSA at about midday.

Separately, the HSA and gardaí are investigating the death of a teenager in Co Limerick.

Ryan Cusack, 17, was caught between a tractor and trailer while cutting trees in Bruree.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to University Hospital Limerick where a post mortem examination is due to be carried out.

Mr Cusack was a stablehand and trainee jockey at Howardstown House, a stud farm owned by horse trainer Enda Bolger.

The incident was reported to the HSA at about midday.
