The Metropolitan Police believes 11-year-old Kathleen Doherty may be in Ireland

Police in London say a missing 11-year-old girl may have been taken to Ireland.

The Metropolitan Police said it is growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of Kathleen Doherty who disappeared from Greenford, London.

Kathleen went missing with her 14-year-old sister; however Biddy Doherty was located last night in north London.

She is in the care of the local authority.

Kathleen is believed to be with members of the Travelling community.

Police said she has connections in the Edgware and Harrow areas but could be anywhere in the UK or Ireland.

The British High Court has ordered that she be returned to the care of the local authority.
