Property developer Gerry Gannon and his wife Margaret have said they are heartbroken at the death of their 31-year-old son.
Peter Gannon died at his home in Dublin yesterday.
They said it was the second death of a child the family has endured, losing their six-year-old daughter Emma, three decades ago.
The family are appealing to the media for privacy to allow them time to grieve the loss of Peter, whom they described as a "wonderful son and brother".
