Gardaí investigating a serious sexual assault on a woman with special needs in Dublin have issued a description of a man they wish to speak to in connection with their investigation.

The man who's described as dark skinned with black hair and of medium height approached the victim as she walked along the South Circular Road towards Harrington Street between 4 and 4.15pm last Wednesday.

The man walked with the woman towards the Victoria Steet/Lennox Street area before taking her into a house near South Richmond Street where the attack took place.

Gardaí say they have yet to identify this man and have renewed their appeal for anyone with information, or anyone who may have seen the man or the victim to come forward

The woman is 4ft 10” with shoulder-length brown hair and was wearing a black cardigan, beige top, black knee-length leggings and white runners.

Detectives are also seeking footage from anyone with private CCTV cameras in their homes, cars, taxis, vans or private buses.

A number of women have reported that they were also approached by a man in suspicious circumstances in the same area.

The victim's family have also asked for their privacy to be respected.
