Inland Fisheries Ireland are investigating approximately 500 fish died on the River Dodder in Dublin.
The problem arose in Old Bawn area of Tallaght yesterday.
Inland Fisheries Ireland said they are confident they have established the source of the kill and there will be no further impact.
An investigation is being carried out with sample tests results expected to be known in a week or two.
