A woman in her 50s has died following a two-car collision in Co Mayo last night.
The collision happened at around 9.20pm on the Foxford to Ballina road at a place known as Armstrong’s Corner.
The woman was taken to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar, but later died from her injuries.
The driver of the second car was also injured, although their injuries are not said to be life threatening.
Gardaí have appealed for anyone who may have been on the Foxford to Ballina road between 9pm and 9.30pm to contact Swinford Garda Station at 094-9252990, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any garda station.
