The Health and Safety Authority is to visit the C&D Foods plant in Edgeworthstown, Co Longford on Monday, after an ammonia leak that led to the evacuation of the plant.
Two units of Longford fire services were called to the pet food manufacturing plant after locals reported a strong smell of ammonia in the town and in a children's playing area near the plant.
The fire services worked for four hours to help contain a leak of ammonia at the plant. Production has now recommenced and the alert is over.
