Seven people have been returned for trial accused of immigration offences linked to an alleged sham marriage at Belfast City Hall last year.
A judge ruled that a prima facie case has been established against them.
John Irwin, 36, from Lisburn, faces charges of assisting unlawful immigration by completing driving licence applications for non-European Union citizens.
He is currently suspended from practicing as a solicitor by the Law Society of Northern Ireland.
Michelle Lyons, a 42-year-old trainee solicitor, faces eight charges, including facilitating an alleged sham marriage in August 2011.
Edward and Robert Nicholl were charged with breaching immigration law by acting as groom and witness.
Two Chinese women and a man were also charged in connection with breaches of the immigration laws.
All seven have been released on bail and a date for their trial before Belfast Crown Court is likely to be fixed later this year.
