The body of a 19-year-old man has been recovered from the river Blackwater at Mallow in Co Cork.
The man had been swimming in the river with a group of friends at a local bathing area known as the Bullworks at around 5pm this afternoon when he got into difficulty.
A search and rescue operation got under way after emergency services were notified.
The man’s body was recovered just over an hour later.
