An infant has died after falling six floors from a Dublin apartment.

The incident occurred at the Cross Guns complex in Phibsboro, Dublin.

The baby girl was aged between 16 and 18-months-of-age and is believed to have fallen from a window of a sixth-floor apartment at around 4pm.

The baby was taken to Temple Street Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
