US multinational Merit Medical is to expand its operations in Galway with the creation of 200 jobs.
A €20m facility will be officially opened in Parkmore as part of the IDA supported investment.
Merit, which makes medical devices, has been in Galway since 1996 and currently employs 379 people.
The new jobs will be in research and development, operations support and manufacturing.
Over one third of the jobs are graduate positions.
Merit manufactures medical devices used mainly in the areas of cardiology, radiology and endoscopy.
The new facility will be a designated centre of excellence for some of Merit's new products and technologies.
IDA Chief Executive Barry O'Leary said Merit was a key player in the cluster of medical device companies operating successfully from the West of Ireland.
37 jobs at internet security firm
Separately, 37 new jobs were announced at Galway software firm Copperfasten Technologies.
The company, which produces internet security solutions, is based in Salthill and currently employs 15 people.
The expansion is based on a €500,000 investment by Enterprise Ireland.
