President Michael D Higgins attended a commemoration service held at St Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin today for the artist Louis le Brocquy, who died this week.
Chief mourners were the artist’s wife, Anne Madden, and his sons Pierre and Alexia.
Among the many figures from the arts world in attendance were Bono and the Edge from U2, Séamus Heaney, Robert Ballagh and John Boorman.
