Hundreds of people are involved in a search for a 57-year-old woman missing from her home in Tullamore, Co Offaly.
Marian Naughton was last seen at the Grand Canal in Tullamore at 2pm on Wednesday afternoon.
Ms Naughton was a native of Knockcroghery, Co Roscommon, and was working as a senior bank official in Tullamore.
Gardaí say she was wearing a red or pink jacket at the time she went missing.
She is described as being 5'9" in height, of slight build, with shoulder-length black hair.
Inspector Kieran Keyes in Tullamore said gardaí are seriously concerned for Ms Naughton's safety.
Extensive searches are being carried out in the Tullamore area with the help of a large number of people who have travelled from Roscommon.
Over 200 people are involved in a ground search near Tullamore. Sub-aqua divers are also searching the Grand Canal and the garda air support unit is in the area.
