The Government has nominated a dozen people for appointment by the President as judges, seven to the Circuit Court and five to the District Court.
The seven to be nominated to the Circuit court are Sarah Berkely BL; Pauline Codd BL; Barry Hickson SC; Kennan Johnson, solicitor; Mary Ellen Ring, SC; Judge David Riordan (Judge of the Disctrict Court); and Carmel Steward, SC.
The five nominated to the District Court are all solicitors: Alan Mitchell, Eugene O'Kelly, Marie Quirke, Kevin Staunton and Michael Walsh.
