A man in his 30s has died after being hit by a truck on the Ringaskiddy Road, near Ringaskiddy Village in Cork.
The incident occurred at around 7am this morning and the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
A stretch of road has been closed pending an examination by the Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to the incident to contact Togher Garda Station on 021-494-7120.
