The main runway at Cork Airport has reopened following an incident involving a light aircraft.

Both the main and secondary runways at the airport were closed for 30 minutes at around 3pm after the nose wheel on a light aircraft collapsed on landing.

The small plane belonged to the Atlantic Air Flying School. Two people on board - an instructor and student - were uninjured.

One flight - a Ryanair plane from Gatwick - had to be diverted to Shannon.
