Members of the 105th Battalion will deploy to Lebanon in the early hours of tomorrow to begin a six-month tour of duty.
The deployment of 230 troops represents the first of two troop movements which will see a total of 440 members of the 105th Battalion taking up peacekeeping duties with the UNIFIL mission.
The second half of the battalion will depart Ireland on 27 November.
Commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Philip Brennan, the 105th Battalion will take over duty from the 104th Battalion, who have been in Lebanon since June.
The role of Irish troops in the UNIFIL mission involves monitoring the cessation of hostilities, assisting the Lebanese Armed Forces, including extensive mobile patrolling throughout the Irish area of operations and helping to ensure humanitarian access to the civilian population.
