Dublin City Council is to reveal revised plans

Dublin City Council has revealed revised plans for a controversial flood barrier in Clontarf in Dublin.

The plans were presented to residents and the local business committee this afternoon.

A meeting between council officials and the two groups took place at the Northside Civic Centre in Coolock this afternoon.

Thousands of people recently gathered to protest at the current plans to erect the flood defence, claiming it would block views of Dublin Bay from the coastal route of Clontarf Road.

In a statement this evening, the combined Clontarf residents and business associations said they were disappointed with the proposed amendments.

"We are dismayed and disappointed by the complete arrogance on the part of the city council over this issue," the associations said.

"They have refused to listen to the voices of thousands of people who don’t want the Flood Defence scheme in its current proposed format."
