At least ten people were killed and another 18 were wounded when three successive blasts hit a neighbourhood in the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
A first blast went off underneath a car followed by a second blast as emergency officials were trying to help wounded and then a third blast detonated less than 100 meters away.
The blasts hit the mainly Shia Washash neighbourhood in the capital.
Violence in Iraq has fallen sharply since the height of sectarian killings in 2006-2007.
However, Sunni Islamist insurgents and Shia militias still carry out daily attacks just as the last US troops prepare to withdraw at the end of the year.
